The IRONHELM Mace 42" is our longest mace, built for strength, leverage and shoulder resilience. The load hangs on a chain from the end of the mace, and the longer lever makes the same weight more demanding. Your grip, core and shoulders have to control it through every rep.
Every IRONHELM Mace 42" ships with the IRONHELM Pulley System. Train two ways: hang weight from the chain for free-swinging work, or clip the chain to the pulley cable for smooth, cable-resisted rotation and swings.
It's ideal for hockey, lacrosse, dragon boat, functional fitness and any sport where upper-body strength and rotational control matter.
Why train with the Mace 42"
- Durable shoulders: The longer lever loads the shoulders through a wide range of motion, building strength and resilience.
- More from less weight: 42" of leverage makes moderate loads feel heavy, so you train hard without a big plate stack.
- Grip and core strength: The shifting load keeps your hands, forearms and trunk working the whole time.
- Rotational control: Build the strength to produce and resist rotation in your sport, not just in the gym.
- Two ways to train: Free-hanging weight or cable resistance with the included IRONHELM Pulley System.
- Simple loading: Use standard 2.5 lb and 5 lb plates or kettlebells, and change the load in seconds.
How the Pulley System works
- Anchor the pulley overhead with the anchor strap.
- Run the cable over the pulley. Clip one end to your mace and the other to the loading pin with the locking carabiners.
- Load plates on the pin and train. The ball stop keeps the cable from running through the pulley.
How it's built
- 360° swing bearing hanger: heavy-duty stainless steel that lets the mace turn freely under load, so the chain doesn't twist.
- Quick link and chain: a stainless steel quick link joins 1' of 1/4" galvanized steel chain to the hanger.
- Aluminum tube: 42" long with a durable grip material, for maximum leverage without the weight of a steel mace.
